At CES 2013 we saw numerous new smartphones unveiled by some of the big players in the industry. Perhaps the stand out model from this event was the Sony pPeria Z, the model that Sony are hoping will go head to head with the big names like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5. We have now seen the model released in Japan and other markets across the globe are hoping that the handset will arrive in their region over the coming weeks.
Last week it was reported that retail outlets across Japan had been receiving display units and point of sale material relating to the new Sony Xperia Z. These arrivals fueled speculation about an imminent launch of this device and indeed on February the 9th the model got a general release in Japan. At this moment in time there have been no confirmed release dates for other markets and it is expected that here in the UK we will see the model hit shelves towards the end of February or possibly early March. Since it debuted at CES 2103 the Xperia Z has been one of the most talked about handsets in the world and now Japanese consumers have the opportunity to see this new model in the flesh.
There is good reason why the new Sony Xperia Z is so hotly anticipated and this is because of the excellent specification that the model boasts. The manufacturers have equipped the phone with some of the best technology around in an effort to claw back some ground from Android market leaders Samsung who produce the best selling Samsung Galaxy S3. The Xperia Z impresses in all areas but the processing power of the model should deliver some breathtaking speeds. The model includes a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5Ghz and sporting four cores. The screen of the phone measures in at 5 inches and can produce Full HD resolution at 1080P. The excellent Sony Bravia Mobile Engine 2 has also been included on the phone to help the model produce a depth of colour from the screen not normally associated with mobile devices.
The Sony Xperia Z is certainly one of the most impressive smartphones ever to be produced and Japanese consumers are the first in the world to have the opportunity to own this excellent device
